Tech Editor / Creative Builder

Nguyễn Nghĩa

I cover AI and consumer tech for Vietnamese audiences - trained in journalism, shaped by the newsroom, now writing on my own terms.

About Me

Hi, I'm Nguyễn Nghĩa. I'm a tech editor trained in International Relations and Journalism at the Academy of Journalism and Communications in Hanoi.

Most recently I edited and reported on technology at Kenh14, where I also led newsroom AI integration - building workflows for drafting, translation, and editorial automation while keeping human judgment at the center. Before that, I covered bilingual stories at VnExpress. Now I work independently.

Alongside the reporting, I co-founded HalloCreative, a creative studio for brand storytelling and visual work. I'm curious, practical, and a bit obsessive about doing things properly.

What I Bring

For Editors

Journalism-trained, with a feel for how tech actually works.

News, explainers, reviews, and analysis across AI, platforms, Apple, and consumer tech - written to deadline and edited to a standard.

For Readers

Tech coverage that respects your intelligence.

No hype, no vague takes. Just clarity on what changed, why it matters, and what is really going on under the headline.

By the Numbers

500+ articles published
500K+ article views
4M+ social impressions

Directional totals across newsroom bylines, independent essays, and social distribution; kept rounded so the page does not pretend to be an analytics dashboard.

How I Work

How I ship trustworthy stories in about two hours, draft-to-publish. Reporting first, AI for the mechanical parts, human judgment on every final call.

01 Estimated time: ~20 min

Scan the signal

Work out what actually changed before deciding what the story is.

I do

  • Check launches, source documents, and public reaction before settling on an angle.
  • Separate real movement from recycled hype so the story starts in the right place.

AI helps

  • Pulls background material into a quick digest so I can scan faster.
  • Flags repeated claims or context gaps worth checking by hand.
02 Estimated time: ~25 min

Find the angle

Turn raw information into a story shape a reader can care about.

I do

  • Decide the central question and the evidence needed to support it.
  • Compare the development against past examples, product behavior, or market context.

AI helps

  • Summarizes long documents and transcripts so I can review them faster.
  • Suggests follow-up questions or comparisons to pressure-test the framing.
03 Estimated time: ~55 min

Build the draft

Turn reporting into a clean structure before polishing the prose.

I do

  • Outline the lead, supporting sections, and where explanation needs to slow down.
  • Write the first draft in my own voice with the reader's likely questions in mind.

AI helps

  • Assists with structure checks, translation passes, and rough rewrites for comparison.
  • Speeds up mechanical cleanup without replacing the editorial voice.
04 Estimated time: ~20 min

Edit and publish

Tighten the piece until it reads clearly and holds up under scrutiny.

I do

  • Trim repetition, verify names, dates, and claims, and make each paragraph earn space.
  • Refine the headline and final framing so the promise matches the piece.

AI helps

  • Surfaces awkward phrasing, missing links, and consistency issues for a final pass.
  • Helps compare headline variants without deciding the winner.

Editorial principle

The job is not to sound fast. It is to find the actual change, explain why it matters, and leave the reader with a cleaner mental model.
